Birthed on 4 September 1952, Rishi Kapoor was one of the very few actors who received a National Award for their debut films – he got it for the Best Child Artist for Mera Naam Joker in 1970.
That was a sign of his rare excellence, and also that of his art is no ordinary; it was born to rule millions of hearts for many years to come.
Three years later in 1973, he did Bobby – his first film as a proper lead actor, and with that performance, the entire cinematic world had known a megastar star had come aboard.
And after that year, a round of blockbusters began for Rishi Kapoor, and he embarked on the path to becoming a legend, a heartthrob, and a sensation of an entire era.
Did hundreds of films, till 2000 – he was leading the films, but after that, he decided to work as a supporting actor. Received many honors and recognitions, he was the father of actor Ranbir Kapoor and son of legendary actor-director Raj Kapoor. Also, married to her screen partner Neetu Kapoor in real life.
A dear friend to Shri Amitabh Bachchan, Rishi Kapoor was not only a great actor but also a fighter and a fearless speaker. He was as famous as his acting for his attitude of saying the truths.
He entertained not one but two entire generations with his art, some of his excellent films were: Do Dooni Chaar, Karz, Prem Rog, Nagina, Amar Akbar Anthony, Honeymoon, Chandni, Heena & Bol Radha Bol, Yeh Vaada Raha, Daraar, Damini, Kapoor & Sons, 102 Not Out, Agneepath, and many more.
Rishi Kapoor RIP Death | In September last year only, Rishi Kapoor fought with cancer and returned to India after the treatment of around 11 months from New York. And since his return, his health kept getting fluctuated from time to time, but yesterday morning he was yet again admitted to the hospital – Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital in Mumbai as he was feeling some breathing issues.
And today at 8.45 a.m., he passed away leaving a 50-year-old phenomenal career and his legacy behind.
