CoA New India, One India
Janta Curfew – it becomes a historic day after witnessing the sincere cooperation of the citizens. Today, even the most crowded places are way away to spot a single person – it’s no less than an achievement in a country like us, like India.
Wait! The eyelashes went wet when we got to see the entire country ruptured of sounds of clapping, thalis, and hoots. That was probably one of the best examples of unity and one nation, our nation.
On a personal note, we would like to thank all the people of India for taking part in the thanking session held at 5 p.m. for 5 minutes on March 22, 2020. Also, we salute all the people who are working and serving the nation at the forefront, risking their lives.
You must have heard about the 2004 Tsunami – people were relaxing on the beach, sun-bathing, kids were playing, and everything was normal. It was the time when they refused to notice God’s command to leave the beach. Suddenly, an enormous wave arrived and stretched to not only up to the coasts but the village as well. Thousands of people have died – it cost an immense loss of property and lives.
That incident shook the world, and the biggest reason for those casualties was — nobody knew that Tsunami is coming. One line of information could have made a tremendous difference.
Bill Gates’ Warning & Words
In 2015, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates predicted that a global pandemic would kill many people and grind the world economy to a halt in a TED Talk. In that show, he compared two pictures overboard: one was an atomic attack, and the other was microbes. He said, “today the great risk of global catastrophe doesn’t look like this (atom) – instead, it looks like this (influenza virus). If anything, that can kill over 10 million people in the next few decades is most likely to be a highly infectious virus rather than a war. Not missiles, but microbes.” Today, this video has more views than in 2015 – because, at that time, nobody took this warning seriously.
How to Deal with It?
Today, the world is fighting with pandemic COVID-19, such kind of situation most likely to occur once in a century. First in China than the US, UK, France, and then almost every other country – this universal Coronavirus is spreading like wildfire, and killing hundreds of people worldwide every day.
Unlike the Tsunami, everyone has enough knowledge about the Coronavirus and the precautions. Four months ago, nobody knew that they are going to combat the 21st century’s malignant virus. In the past, humans had faced the deadliest ailments like Tuberculosis, Plague, Ebola, etc., but they were not like COVID-19.
Now, what you need to do to save yourself from Coronavirus is:
Wash your hands
Take every advisory seriously.
Lockdown is Important
Lockdown is our real test – we need to understand this. Social distances are crucial and can save many lives. We have to do that.
