Initially, our country has shown phenomenal unity, and the whole country succeeded in controlling the COVID-19 disease. Days kept passing, lockdown kept enhancing, and we somehow still managed to control the virus spread. But, as soon as the lockdown 4.0 hits with uplifting most of the restrictions – the country started witnessing the sudden rise in the increasing number of cases. In fact, from the past few days, almost every day is making a new record of new coronavirus cases and touching scary heights – isn't it a thing to worry? Did the economic crises & the lockdown anxiety takeover our patience, and we make a mistake?
Like on Friday, 23 May 2020, there were a record-high 6,510 new cases of the disease – it’s a one day jump. Currently, India has around 1,37,612 confirmed cases of coronavirus – among them, 76,378 are active; the death toll due to the same has reached to 4001.
The figures are high, and unfortunately, they are getting higher and higher with each passing day.
In the list of most affected countries, India now stands at 11th position in the world and 3rd in Asia. Internally, Maharashtra has the most number of confirmed cases – with 44,582.
It seems like the battle we won in the beginning – is somewhere losing its glory, and we are descending like a rocket towards the worst.
Coronavirus is now taking a new turn towards becoming a nightmare – we hope and pray for the best; as they say – the worst is yet to come.
