About Sant Tukaram :-
Sant Tukaram was a great poet and saint of the 17th century. People know him by many names Bhakt Tukaram, Sant Tukaram, Tukaram Maharaj, Tukoba Tukbaray. He was born in 1665 in Dehu, District Pune, Maharashtra, India. Tukaram was a devotee of Lord Vitthal. Who is also known as Shri Krishna. His father’s name was Bolhoba, his mother’s name was Kankar Bai. His father ran a small business.
At the age of 13, the child Tukaram was married to Rakhma Bai. After marriage, when he came to know that Rakhma Bai has asthma. Then his parents got him married to Jijabai. At the age of 17, the responsibility of the whole family came to Sant Tukaram. Whom he continued to run well for 4 years. When Tukaram was 21, his parents did not live in the world. He became orphaned.
Then the elder brother’s (Sawaji) wife died. Sawaji who was elder to kanhoba and Tukaram. His elder brother became completely alone. They also started becoming depressed, financial wealth became busy. Big family responsibilities and big expenses, the shop was on the verge of being completely closed. Two wives choke one, the other always fights. His bankruptcy was out and he separated from his brother.
After this, they separated from everyone and started living alone, and they started living among sadhu sant. They kept writing and listening to poems, some were impressed and no one listened to them. Scholars began to believe that his writing was prohibited and Dukhi Tukaram gave up food grains. Vitthal staged a sit-in in front of the temple and kept sitting saying that he found God.
13 days passed on the rock. God lived too far, had settled in his heart. in child, he stood in front. Tukaram fell at his feet. The Lord picked up and hugged and said that I am very happy with you. He started telling people about education and knowledge related to God. Many people started becoming his devotees and disciples, after this he lived for 15 more years. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj also wanted to make him a guru. He died in the morning in 1706.
